My Cousin's Wedding (Part 1)

I have tonnes of pictures and videos to share of my cousin's wedding! The pictures from the morning are in my sister's thumbdrive so i'll snatch it from her later...but here are the pictures i currently have from the dinner!

This is my nephew!! He calls me ah yi..-.- (it just makes me feel a tad older than i am)

Yeah...he was holding on to the phone for the entire night - trying to act like an important future businessman, while taking occasional pictures of his "ah yi-s" LOL!

I do not know the traditional custom but this is the first time i see the "dai kum jie" (DKJ) walking in front of the bride and groom, waving like she was on some red carpet event! Tsk tsk...trying to steal spotlight lar...obviously. *shakes head*

Ahh...the starter...the sushi lookalike thingy is VERY NICE! :D Sadly, i was quite caught up with my nephew that i hardly had the time to take pictures of the food. Nothing too extravagent la. So, none of you missed out on anything. Except...when it was time for the karaoke session...

Entertainment for the night = FAILED

ZOMG! I nearly choked on my food when i heard the DKJ started to sing.

WAYYYYY OFF TUNE, WAYYYYY OFF TIMING, WAYYY OFF SONG CHOICE, WAYYYYY TOOOO LOUD ON VOLUME OF SPEAKERS - making her sound as if she was screaming into everyone's ears, and the list can go on...so, let's just say she enjoyed herself very much that night and left everyone else to suffer in agony. *groan*

But that is not all! I (and i speak for everyone else) had initially thought that after this song, she would leave us to eat peacefully whilst allowing some other poor fellow to take over the stage. So eager were we to get her off stage that everyone clapped enthusiastically (and pitily) and prayed she would get her cue to get off the stage.

BUT ZOMG NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Probably gloating from the "hyped" response to her singing, she must've thought she was some superstar and went on singing another 3 more songs!!!!

I lost my appetite for the remaining night.

But i felt that the best expression that summed up everyone's reaction towards her singing was a face my elder cousin sis made when DKJ was singing:

HAHAHA! Evidently, she was veryyyy upset. LOL!!!

Karaoke sessions are also a time when people who are a little emotional would come up on stage to express their feelings much like this dude:

ZOMG...you should have seen the way his face contorted when he sang the chorus of Beyond's 海闊天空. IT WAS HILARIOUS! I couldn't stop laughing at how he was singing with so much of passion and emotion, AT A WEDDING! OMG. But i guess he enjoyed himself too. xD

I nearly choked, again, on my drink this time, when my dad and uncle turned the table on me and suggested i go sing. LOL! I shoke my head violently at their suggestion and i don't know what gave them the idea that my shaking the head to indicate NO could mean shy and practically INSISTED i go sing.

I was prepared to shovel a hole at the restaurant and dig my head in.

I had to repeatedly say a firm but polite NO. Which was not an easy task when these two were already a little high on alcohol. -.-

Note to self: NEVER LAUGH AT PEOPLE SINGING IN FRONT OF DAD AND UNCLE!

Anyway, back to the wedding:

Haha! Clearly, he is enjoying his food! :D

The champagne pouring session - the glasses were not aligned properly so only the first 4 tiers were filled with champagne. HAHA!

I have the Yum Sing session recorded on video but i have no clue how to put it in here...so...unless someone could be kind enough to assist me on this technical issue?

And so, what is a wedding dinner without a couple of good ol' pictures of ourselves?

LOL! She caught me at the wrong time! REALLY!

Wakaka!

A picture with the bride in her second dress! :D

As i have mentioned, not alot of pictures were taken of the dinner so, this marks the end of part 1! :D I will try to get the part 2 pieced together soon. We'll see. :)

To my cousin sis, I wish you all the best for your future and may God bless the two of you with heaps of happiness, health, wealth and comfort! :) Thank you for inviting us to your wedding and i hope that some time soon, when Shin gets back, we'll get a get together session of gossips till the wee hours of the morning! :D *hugs*

Note: Photos are taken courtesy of my sis. :D
