ARGH...i have such terrible weakness for cute Korean pretty boys!!!

xD

I am currently following the Korean version of Boys Over Flowers series. xD Thanks to Amily. xD I happen to browse through her blog and i thought i would check out how this series was. Thanks to Bee, i now know where to hunt for these episodes!! xDD

What started as a short glimpse into the series became 6 hours with my eyes glued to the screen. I am seriously hooked!!

Found out later that this is the Korean version of Meteor Garden. No wonder it struck me odd when the guys were referred to as "F4". Haha! Brings back old memories when my sibling and i were crazy over the Taiwan F4 and were fans of Meteor Garden. xD

After watching about 7 episodes (i think), i started getting worried about my eyesight. Plus, the show has some serious flaw to it lar. I mean, don't these students study at all? And when all the bullying happens, where are the teachers?? But to begin with, do they actually have teachers? xD I did not catch the introduction part of the school so, i don't know. The only "normal" person there is Jan-Di herself. Though, in all seriousness, is there really anyone in this world who is so frequently subjected to such torture and drama?

My list can go on and Korean drama fans would start swearing and cursing at me. xD

But one thing is for sure. People watch it because of the pretty boys. xD It's TRUE! I personally, love this version because the acting is way better than in Meteor Garden and i love the way Koreans speak! xD It's soooo cute! xD Besides, they are good looking too. That helps to boost the ratings.

Anyway, i am spending the remainder of the holidays prisoned at home. Nothing particularly exciting has happened so far. Other than the fact that i am now referred to as the Chef of the House! xDDD I KNOWWW! Hard to believe right??? Hehehehe! I am so proud of myself u know! Back in the days when i could only fry eggs while standing miles away from the pan in fear of the oil popping and burning my hand and the only "main dish" i could prepare was Maggi Mee. xD

I can do wayyyyyy more than that now! Just today i did Tom Yam fish! IT WAS GOOD! I am getting hungry again just thinking about it. I am definitely proud of myself. :D So you know what i thought would best sum up my current situation?

KELLY CLARKSON'S SINCE YOU'VE BEEN GONE!!

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Go look on YouTube for the song lar. Malas nak cari and paste. But really...with her gone, i have gotten what i want. And done way more than i could ever thought i could accomplish. So, KUDOS TO ME! xD

Anyway, holidays are coming to a close. *dramatic sigh*

But really, I am not sure i am ready for what lies ahead of me. There would be less of the people i once used to spend a lot of time with and it's time to make new friends once more. It would not be easy. Wonder if i would find a friend just like you? :)

To those who went to Aussie,

I MISSSSSS YOOOUUUU!!!!!

*sniff*

NEW LOVE

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!! I SIMPLY CANNOT WAIT TO SHOW TO YOU THE NEW GADGET LOVE OF MINE!!!!!!!

AND NOW, IT IS MY GREAT HONOUR TO PRESENT TO YOU :

THE NEW NOKIA 5800 XPRESSMUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*hops around in glee*

I finally! FINALLY! Have graduated from the ancient ice age old phone of mine!!! xD WOOOT~

You have no idea how i am enjoying this very moment!! With my running nose flowing like Niagara Falls and my throat feeling sandy and causing me to cough every single night, yeah...i am really enjoying my new phone. :D

WooHOO!

K lar. So i did not get to have my HTC Diamond. SO WHAT!? xD No..i am not being sour grapes about it k. Frankly, i got over it pretty okay. Dreaming of having a HTC Diamond was something like dreaming to be the wife of Vin Diesel or Paul Walker. So yup.

Hhaha!! Ok ok..so maybe it is not that unreachable. But honestly, liking Diamond was like having a crush with that guy you know that you can never imagine yourself ever getting. Not to say that XpressMusic was the second choice. Both are at a completely different level.

It's like this. Diamond is the most popular guy in school and he is the one everyone wants to get. Whereas XpressMusic is like the guy next door or the best friend you had that you would slowly grow to love.

xDD

I can be so weird.

BLAH! I think it is the medication! xP

I'll come back when i am sober. :D Till then, let's rejoice!! xD

Pssstt...

...i don't want to ruin my luck just yet but i can't wait to let you in on this big news...

...promise not to breathe a word to anyone until i am completely sure i get it!! Fingers crossed!

I am about 80% sure that i am going to be the proud owner of the new Xpress music by Nokia.

*giggles*

I'll be right back for more news!! xD

Valentine's Day

And so the day when singles are caught unexpectedly by the ever mischievous Cupid roaming around - shooting heart shaped arrows expertly aimed to pierce through your heart and to your supposed other half - thus creating more love around the world.

Or not.

LOL!

We shall not dwell on the negative. ANYWAY! Single or not, regardless your status on your relationship section on Facebook or Friendster, it is a day to spread the love to others. It does not matter who the receiver of your love is - it can be your parents, your sibling, your significant other or even your beloved pet - it is the day to express your heartfelt love to the people you care for the most.

Years before, i had always treated this day just like any other. As i am sure some of you still do. But ever since i found my significant other, this day - 14th of February - became something a little bit more different than other days. Sure, we celebrate every other day like Valentine's Day but perhaps it is how the media and everyone else has played up this special occasion that tend to make oneself get caught in the whirlwind of Valentine's Day fantasy filled with roses and chocolates and surprise gifts.

For cynics, they would argue that it is just one of those days where you waste money on unnecessary gifts that would not last long and a day to provide yourself extra excuse to crowd at the mall and create havoc on the highway. Whilst the environmentalists would argue that it is a day where people gather to cause pollution for everyone else and cry for protest against celebrating Valentine's Day. And for the opportunists, (mostly businessmen and business women) it is a day to celebrate raising the prices of roses and other flowers alike and chocolates of assorted flavouring and for some, possibly raise the prices of sexy lingerie too. Restaurants even come up with special 3-course meal deals strictly for couples that are limited to that few choices of food and desserts that is complimented with a choice of either coffee or tea at an outrageous price.

But hey, whatever your take is on this day, i do think that it is a day meant for celebrating. Be it a simple get-together with family members or a day out shopping for the girls or even just sitting home with your love ones enjoying a chic flick with popcorn or chips on your laps, it is a day to take the time off your mundane routine life to spend special time with your love ones in whatever way that you enjoy.

I have always celebrated Valentine's Day with my family (except for these two years) and this year, i celebrated it with my significant other - Chu Ian. :D We went out in the afternoon (supposedly after lunch) and our first stop was at Centre Point. Haha! There, on the pretense of "finding" something, he bought me a beautiful rose and we walked over to McDs for my lunch. xD

That is a long story on its own so, never mind. xD Anyway, we then headed off to OU for the remaining day.

MY GOODNESS. It was packed like some market place!! EVERYWHERE you turn you see couples EVERYWHERE and EVERY girl seemed to be in dresses too... And maybe it is just me, but i think those "seasoned" couples were the easiest to spot because they were the minority that were dressed the simplest compared to all the newbies! xDDD

To be frank..we're considered newbies too lar...so....yeah. Got caught red handed with a dress too. xP

We decided on a movie. Which well, if you think about it, that is EXACTLY what EVERY couple would do. So yeah. Pretty much half of Damansara section people were there at the movie area. *faints* IMPOSSIBLE!!

NOT. When there is TGV at the older wing! :D I wanted to watch Inkheart. It looks like a very nice movie. Sadly, all the tickets were sold out and the show times were limited to only 4 something. Pretty crappy. So then, since i felt so left out when my siblings are discussing excitedly about Underworld, i decided, I WILL WATCH AND NOT FEEL LEFT OUT! xDD

OMG. It was AWESOME! In terms of how the werewolves and vampires were portrayed lar. xD SO COOL man!!! Very dark movie. Literally and figuratively. Kate is just...well...Kate. She looked uber cool with those blue eyes when she gets all vampirery. Lol.

Quite the show for Valentine's if you ask me. xD

Soon, it was time for dinner.

Earlier on, we had wanted to place a reservation on this Japanese restaurant at One World Hotel. Unfortunately, at that time, it was fully booked (not surprising) so we decided to leave Chu Ian's phone number there so that if there happen to be any cancellation, we would get to have a place. As luck would have had it, there were no cancellations. But we decided to wait anyway. xD

And then...

"Aunty!" Chu Ian calls out to the couple who just went in.

Found out later that it was Chu Ian's Uncle and Aunt who just so happen had a reservation there at the same restaurant! xD We made our polite introductions and then Chu Ian explained the situation to his uncle. Who then went to the manager and said something along the lines of: PLEASE GET MY NEPHEW A TABLE!

HAHAHA! No LAR. He did NOT say it quite so authoritatively according to Chu Ian. Hehe! But he did say it to about that effect! To me lar. xD Haha! So effective it was that after waiting for another short while, (restaurant was SO busy) WE GOT A SEAT! WOOHOO! :DD

As it turns out, we were seated at the other end of the sushi counter as Chu Ian's uncle and aunt! xD I was already pretty excited by then. Especially after meeting Chu Ian's relatives and finally getting a table, one would naturally get a little on the high. xD So, the waiter cleared the table and carefully placed all the necessary utensils for us whilst we (or i) excitedly went over the menu.

Quite suddenly, out of nowhere came two small glasses that were placed neatly next to our big green tea cup. Just when i was about to question if the waiters were expecting us to drink alcohol, the waiter explained that the Sake was from Chu Ian's uncle!! O.O

OMG. I DO NOT DRINK SAKE!

We both made the waiter pour us half a glass of the sake and drank it reeeaaallll slloooowww. LOL! So anyway, i ordered a set that came with Unagi! And my my...very generous portion! I enjoyed my dish very much. :) Then suddenly again, Chu Ian's uncle appeared with the sake bottle in hand!! O.O And he refilled my unfinished amount of sake with more sake!!! GAHHHHHH!!!

He was a very jolly man.

And very generous.

xD

I say this because later on, he ordered for both of us, each, a plate of oysters. O.O x million.

It goes without saying that i was stuffed till my mouth and was so afraid that my dress would tear and reveal my bloated tummy. *burp*

:D

The uncle went on to pay for the bill too. So, i pretty much owe the uncle and aunt and maybe the rest of Chu Ian's family a lifetime to wash dishes at their place unless i bake a real good cake for them. Haha!! OMG. I really have to take up baking classes. -.-"

Anyhow, after thanking his uncle profusely, we both pretty much walked around in a state of shock and awe. xD

But really, thank you Chu Ian, for the effort and for everything that you did to make Valentine's Day so meaningful and special for me. :) I really enjoyed myself. :) *hugs* Thank you! :)

And to all out there:

Happy Valentine's Day! :)

p.s.: yes..i kinda altered the dates for both this and the earlier entry on my b'day. hehe!

The big two zero

The big 20 birthday celebration has gone and passed and i owe my dear readers an update on the celebration. So here it goes:

I had an early birthday celebration with my MU gang of friends (old and new) at One U on the 2nd of Feb. LOL. Yes. I do realise that the celebration is a tad early for anyone, even for me. But it is a celebration nonetheless and it was certainly an enjoyable night. :) It was very sweet of them to make the effort to celebrate with me despite some of them busy getting ready to leave for Australia. :(

We had it at Chillis.

I have a long history with Chillis. I am not quite sure the difference between American Chillis and Chillis but whichever it is, for as long as i can remember, i almost always spent my birthday celebrations there. :D Not necessarily at a particular outlet of theirs but definitely Chillis. And i still remember the first time i was there and the whole group of waiters walked in to sing Happy Birthday song for me with my family members joining in happily. It was such a cool feeling! xD But i was young and naive then. So, for waiters(!) to sing for me was a big deal. Hehe.

Anyway, it was great to spend my birthday celebration (albeit a little early) with friends whom i care a lot. :) So to those who attended, you know who you are, THANK YOU SO MUCH! Whilst some of you are already in Australia and i may not see you until at least the end of the year, thank you again and again for making my early celebration that much sweeter and enjoyable! Promise to let me know when you all get back!! :)

On the day itself, at midnight, the first to greet me was the one and only Chu Ian! xD Then followed by my sis who stayed up late to wish me. :) In the morning, i woke up and got ready to meet Chu Ian for breakfast and whilst it was simple, i thoroughly enjoyed myself. In fact, i was in my highest spirits that morning especially when Chu Ian greeted me with a box in hand! A CAKE! WOOHOO! :D It was my favourite Caramel Cheesecake!!! xDDD To be honest, i thought that that was all that he had given me. HEHEHE! So anyway, i quickly thanked him and stuffed the box into the fridge before leaving for breakfast.

He had to move the car a little before i could get in so there i was getting ready to open the door when...

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ANOTHER PRESENT ON THE SEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hahahahha!!!!!!!! I squealed and jumped into the car and very nearly wanted to immediately rip the present off its wrapping paper. Hehe! But i continued beaming happily and after several hugs, with the patience of a tiger waiting to pounce on its prey, i very slowly unwrapped the present.

*squeals loudly*

A PERFUME!! HEHEHEEHHE!!!!

I immediately opened the box and choked ourselves in the car with a few sprays and happily went off for breakfast! :D Whilst we did not get to properly spend time together, it was indeed super great to get to spend my birthday with him! Thank you so much for the cake and the present dear!!!! :D

Later, i went shopping with my siblings and was joined with my parents - who came back from Ipoh :) - and we went off to CARL'S JR! Haha! My mom was quite shocked at where i suggested we go for dinner. Actually, i wanted my dad to try the burgers there after promoting to him for a quite awhile. Got him really curious and interested in it so i thought what a better day than today to eat?? Hehehe!

It was certainly filling! Dad was very very impressed at the size of the burgers and the price. Haha! But all was well. :D

Also, before i forget, thank you so much to friends who have kindly remembered my birthday - no matter how you remembered or came to know about it, thank you once again for the birthday wishes!! :D No need for names as you already know who you are and i do not want to risk missing anyone out. :) But thank you! :)

End.

p.s. i realise that i do not have the usual enthusiasm in this particular post. LOL! Possibly due to the delay. SoRRY! And i know some of you might be wondering if i finally got my new phone yet. Well...sadly...that was one thing i wished too hard for. xD I'll get back to that in another post another time. :D

Will get my enthusiasm back in no time! Till then!

My Birthday is coming up...

...in a few hours and i cannot help but feel excited and also feel a sense of achieving another level of maturity and a pinch of sadness.

Not a few days ago (or weeks), i had in my head, a long list of things that i would love to have on my birthday. It should not be a surprise that most, if not all, that there were there on my wish list were materialistic wish items.

Admit it. YOU have a list of materialistic wish items too.

ANYWAY. As the day drew nearer, my wish list became shorter and shorter to only a few wish items i would love to have. In case you have not already figured out the item on the top of my wish list, then...tut-tut...we have obviously not been keeping in touch. xD Well, FYI, i want a new phone.

And i also would love a brand new closet full of new clothes. :D

And lovely cool exotic accesories of all kinds! (be it exotic indian style earrings or cool necklaces...etc)

And not to mention lovely pleasant surprises of any kind (i.e. friends have a surprise party for me) - hahaha! Honestly, i have always wanted this for a long time. NOT HINTING anything but it is really no surprise that everyone loves a good surprise every now and then in their lifetime.

And, i have been on a look out for really soft beautiful scarfs as an accessory AND as something to warm me whenever i am cold (which is most of time...LOL! If you had a chance to shake my frozen hand then you would know what i mean.)! So, it is actually a very practical and worth-the-money-spent kind of gift because of its multi-usage! That is killing two birds with one stone! :D

Also, i love solitude as much as i love the company of family and friends. On my special day, i would love the noise of groups of my friends and family laughing and chatting together. To surround myself with all my love ones, it does not even matter if you gave me a hand-me-down gift or a diamond. The joy you get when you see the people you love enjoying themselves and including you in every chat that they have and pay special attention to you for just one day, i think, that would be the best gift of all.

That pretty much sums up my wish list for my birthday tomorrow.

Sadly though, i may not be getting any of the above.

Sad case right?

See, my parents went to Ipoh to send my grandparents back home and that leaves my siblings and i at home. Not that it is terribly bad. But...something is missing... - my parents. It doesn't seem right celebrating my birthday without my parents. And as for friends, well, half of them are already getting ready to leave for Australia and also, some of them have already celebrated an early birthday for me - which was extremely sweet and thoughtful, so thank you (you know who you guys are!! xD)!!!! So, i am not expecting any big celebration to mark the end of teen years. LOL.

Bear in mind that i am not seeking for pity or sadness of any sort. It is just that, i have come to realise that really, what i truly truly want for my birthday is to have it spent with the people i love.

I still want a new phone though...xDDD

As for now, i can only hope that everything would be sunny and bright tomorrow. :)

Till then!
