Sg Lembing Trip, Day 1

Every so often, Leo Club would organise a trip outside KL as a means of bringing every member together to fellowship and know one another better.

This time, the sub-group of Leo Club : Tropicana, decided that we would head up north to Sungai Lembing, Pahang for an outdoor experience with mother nature! :)

Boy oh boy...there i thought that i would be brave and adventurous enough to last through trip without whining and complaining about sore limps and aching body. Instead, i continued having sore limps and aching body even after 2 days of the trip!

Just goes to show how fit i am. *bows head in shame*

Anyway, armed with my trusty camera, i joined in the "photography gang" - not that i was anywhere NEAR how well they take photos, but oh well, if you want to be good in photography, why not join the elites and learn something? :) And learned i did!

My pictures are still not as awesomely wow-ing factor as theirs but i would settle for "good enough" before i inherit my bro's DSLR. :D THEN we'll see if it is just the camera or me! xDD

Here are the filtered pictures of the whole trip (I have decided to just add the scenic pictures that i took rather than the group pics that you can get from Facebook :) ):

The Teluk Chempedak Beach Stream...xD

From a different angle

There were alot of rocks around the area so do expect to see a number of "rocky" pics :D
That is Viran, btw. Taking me taking him. xD

Monkeyyyy! I was quite scared of them cuz one sorta chased after me when i tried to take a close up. Prolly thought my camera was food. xD

Here is where i learnt that the grid display kinda helps to prevent from taking lopsided pics like these..:P

Can you see the couple at the distance? SO lovey dovey k! humpf. PDA betul! Dear ar! Next time we go go also k? xD

This is the Teluk Chempedak Beach! :D Unfortunately it is not the cleanest beach around...it was actually much worst many years ago but thank goodness they cleaned up so that now it's better! :D

We stopped by this er..hut..and hopped down to the rocks. Scary experience, if you ask me. Prolly the start of display of my fear of heights and of falling..

If only they had bigger waves...:)

This is the other side of the Teluk Chempedak Beach! Not quite sure what this beach is called but i must say, of all the years that i came, this has got to be the first time that i am reaching this side!

More rocks!
Reaching the other side! :D

We came from that bridge! :D

Teluk Chempedak Beach

Poor kite got stuck up the tree! Wind here is strong so these are actually a common sight. xD

Apparently that is the light house....hmm

Restaurant Mei Hiong : where we had our dinner! :) We're suppose to have shark meat but since it's against Leo's objective, we had chicken meat instead! xD

Yeah..we had egg too

And tofu...

I think this is pork...

My favourite vege! :D It's the more solid type of yao mak...xD dear ar...do u know the name? :P

Sting Ray

erm....i think this was the chicken. With sweet and sour sauce. :D

The guys (Viran and Brian) were showing off how they could change their shutter speed/light exposure (i think) and could somehow do amazingly awesome pictures with the light that i loved! This was the best my camera could do...:(

This is the "chalet" where most of us stayed...:)

This "B block chalet" was where the others stayed..xD And where the guy is sitting is where the BBQ area is! :D I know this pic is blurred but if notice the background closely, i caught the lighting from afar! :D

This was the bed that me and TY shared :)

Tadah! 4 of us to a room! :D Air cond looked very new!

These are some of the wall pic that they had near the kitchen area. Not entirely sure what it was..just realised that i didn't bother to find out ...xD

Here is the walkway that connected all the rooms! :D

The room that Janice is coming out from is my room! :D

This is the reception area right outside our room! :D Note that there is astro and a karaoke set! :D

This is the bathroom in the room! :D They have heater and good supply of tissue rolls! :D

Oh! They provide towels too! :D And and and, our room is pinkish red! :D Others were like green and whatnot. :D :D

See how canggih the fan is! :D Unfortunately they took off the lightbulbs so the lights aren't working. xD
Well, this is pretty much what happened during the first day. :D At night, we played Taboo! :D It was incredibly fun especially when TY and i were laughing at every single word we saw! xD We make a great team! ;)

We finally decided to sleep at around 2 (?) and was one of the first to wake up the next morning at 4. -.-

But i'll tell more about it in my Day 2 trip post! :D

New layout...2 and for Benjamin Mckay

Yeah...decided to change my layout once more. :D

Now it looks very indie and hippie-like right? xD Very earthy... :) I like. :)

There are a gazillion pictures to post up but now that semester is starting, and given that blogspot or the internet has the irritating tendency of taking a damn long time to load the pictures, it kinda spoils the mood. xD

But do let me know what you think of the current layout before i decide to change it again. :)

**********
On a separate note, a few of us started the semester with the horrible news that a lecturer just recently passed away.

As Tze Yuen mentioned, he was the first lecturer that we saw every week and the subjects that he taught was by far, my favourite of all. :) Every time when a friend questions whether or not they should take the subject, i would readily encourage them to take the subjects that he taught simply because it was rather simple and considered fun. :)

Lectures today had a glum mood to it that even the lecturer - Julian, could not really go ahead with the introduction of the unit. Instead, he talked about what happened when he found the body and what he thought of his beloved colleague.

To think that a few of us used to tease about the way he exclaims and go: "Oh my...".

Benjamin Mckay, I may not have been close to you nor do i know you well, but you have been one of the nicest lecturer i know. Even though i came into your office to seek advice when assignment was due 2 days later, after a small lecture about how i shouldn't do things last minute, you went on to explain the assignment to me. :)

Even though i was no longer in your class, you still smiled at me when we passed through corridors. :)

So, Thank you, for teaching me everything that was to do about film making and camera techniques. It was truly enjoyable and an eye opener. :)

May God bless you.

Rest in peace.

Pictures

I'll be honest that I have absolutely no inspiration nor the enthusiasm to write up a long post. So, as most lazy bloggers would say, I'll let the pictures do the talking. :)

One of the major things that happened recently, to me anyway, was the fact that I finally...had a haircut. :D

Strange that now it is done, I want my long hair back. xD

Sis had some voucher from the Cultural Night that offered 3 options:
1) Wash, Haircut, Blow-dry = RM 5
2) Perm blah and treatment = RM 90 (or 80)
3) Highlights and Haircut = RM 45

Since I wanted to have a haircut (preferably a new style) I thought....why not la. Especially since it was an offer by A Cut Above Academy! :D

Yeah..I initially failed to notice the "academy". xD

Since all that I wanted was really just a haircut, I chose the first option whilst my sis (surprisingly adventurous) opted for the third choice.

In some ways, we were pretty lucky that day because the student hairstylists that attended to us were the seniors and were graduating the next day! xD At least we weren't guinea pigs to the first timers. xD

As I mentioned, I wanted a "new" hairstyle. So my hairstylist grabbed some magazines and finally came across the front cover of one that had Sammi Cheng spotting a short hair-do.

She:" You dare to try? Want to cut your hair like hers??"
Me:" Errrrrrrrrr.....*after a long while*....ermmmm.....ok...larrr....."

Yeah...was pretty hesitant about it cuz I was quite sure she couldn't give me that exact look and goodness, I DO NOT LOOK LIKE SAMMI CHENG! She looks pretty even if she were bald!

Regardless, it turned out pretty okay! :D

Here are the before, during and some afters:
Hmm..I think it was using the macro function. xD But that's me having my hair wash and massage!!
See how long my hair was??!! *sob* I misssss!! :(
But the head massage and hair wash sorta made it better. :D
That is my sis looking very worried with her hairstylist..xD

Ahh..clearer! :D
She was clearly...very excited..xD
Hahaha! I thought she looked so cute! xD
Oh! And check out grandma behind! Even SHE goes to the saloon when I don't! xD
From the back

I couldn't resist xD
SO SHORT ADY! o.O
Uh-oh

Yes...I was verrryyy scared!!!

One of the other hairstylist wanted to sell my hair for hair extensions xDDDD

:P
I wasn't very nice to her wasn't i? xD

She didn't help much to calm me!

Ok...i DO NOT camwhore very often...REALLY! But I can only get away with this sort of hairstyle during such times! xD

They had to resort to using surgical gloves to touch her hair! xD
Nah la...it was for the highlights!:D

She had two..TWO people handling her hair..xD

*smug*

This is how they do it! :D

HAHA! She looks like a witch, no? xD

Side view: :P

I was already about done...

...and she is still "airing" and "frying" with that "halo-like" machine to let the colour set

I know...i kinda look very 70s eh? xD
Yeah...that's my sis's hairstylist -.-" But he is really sweet and funny. :D

She was soooo worried about the outcome until one of the hairstylist mentioned: "Erm..she is very scared.."
LOL! AND after she saw how good it looked, this was how happy she was. xD

So so pretty right???? :D

Then I made her pose more! :D

Yeah...she does these well...xD

This is like our favourite hangout place in Pyramid! xD

Lovely highlights! :D

As usual, hers was the heaviest and had the weirdest concoction

And as usual, mine is always plain and simple and bordering on BORING! xD

Woot~! :D
So that's about the most major difference and something drastic for the holidays. xD

There are other outings and fun stuff that happened so i'll do that in the next post! :D
