Food tasting day 2

This post is obviously long overdue...but i figured i'll just post it up now that i am "free". :D

My cousin brother is getting married in May! :D So that makes another goal or rather another reinforcement for me to exercise more intensely! Grr!

Anyway, my uncle very kindly and generously invited us for food tasting at Oriental Banquet in PJ. :) This pictures are from day 2 since the ones from the first day are on my phone. Plus, these were the wayyyyyy tastier dishes anyway...So here are a few pictures i managed to snap before feasting! :D
This is the starter dish. So yummy-fying looking right? IT WAS! :D
Ze fish. Yes...nothing particularly outstanding about it that makes you want to dive in and feast on it...but it DID taste nice! :) But i think the restaurant realised how unattractive it was so they made another fish dish for us to compare!
Look so much nicer eh? :D It was fried fish with pomelo and lime/orange/lemon dressing along with dried cuttlefish topping that gave the dish the extra salty zesty tangy taste that was surprisingly refreshing...in a rather odd way (since the idea of pomelo and fish just don't mesh)
It looks kinda dull up-close eh..hahaha! How can i bring out the colour of the dish??
And this is the chicken. I know!! It looks very...ermm...not wedding dinner material..lol! But i liked the herbal taste!! :D
And this is a very sadly blurred close-up of the chicken. Haha! But i must say! It was soft and absolutely my favourite kind of herbal chicken dish!! :D On MY wedding day though, I'm not allowing this kind of presentation nor cooking style! KEKE! (TAKE NOTE!)
The vege! For all the weddings that i have attended, I always seem to see this dish being served. Not entirely sure what it is suppose to symbolize but omg...it's one of my favourite! xD I generally like broccoli and mushrooms so that is good but for me, the extra bonus is the taufu! :D I LOVE these rectangular-shaped fried taufu! SUPER NICE! :D I always felt that for the entire dish to be nice, the taufu MUST be soft and yet, the outer layer is slightly fried-like tough. Haha! This one is 2nd grade la..could have been better. xD
The lotus leaf wrapped sticky rice! Hahaha! I'm sure the restaurant came up with a far more glamorous name for it. xD Not too bad, this dish! :)
DESSERT! This particular dessert i always dread when i see it. For some reason, my body heat gets heated up (in a very heaty-bad-for-health way) just thinking about it, what more when i eat it! But surprisingly, it wasn't so bad! :D I think i had second helping...xD
I know it looks very plain BUT IT IS UBER DUPER GOOD! Those balls u see inside? Those are like tang yuen but like...A GAZILLION TIMES BETTER! Take a bite of it and black sesame filling would ooze out and make your teeth black BUT OMG IT IS WORTH EVERY BLACK RESIDUE THAT GETS STUCK TO YOUR TEETH! SO GOOD I TELL YOU! A MUST TRY!!! :D

So that pretty much was all i took from the food tasting dinner. :D I have some more from the first day but it's on my phone and none of the pictures are particularly pretty. xD
I'll be leaving for dinner soon (looking at all these just makes me drool!) so i'll try to upload as many of my previous events asap! :) Till then! :)

Assignment blues

How on earth do you do assignments when you don't even feel like doing them in the first place?

I am sitting here and have already spent an hour writing less than a 100 words! I can't really say that i have writer's block since i can crack up this post in less than 2 seconds! OMG!

I am truly amazed at how some people can just sit down and keep writing and writing and complete their assignments in no time! HOW ON EARTH DO YOU DO IT?!

The question for the assignment is simple enough: "In what ways did nationalism become a dominant force in world history after 1945?" BUT I CAN'T FREAKING GET A PROPER SENTENCE OUT ON THE BLANK SHEET OF WORD DOCUMENT!!

I am in need of counseling...then i can use that as my excuse for extension...

Chee Fei's Belated Birthday post

Chee Fei! If you ever get the chance to read this, SORRY FOR THE DELAY! xP

Anyhow, here are the pictures taken from the night:
The table where we had the home version of lok lok! :D
This dessert was AWESOME
YUM YUM satays!
Everyone busy helping themselves with the yummy food
That is more or less the amount of satays every one had! xD
Right after dinner, cam-whoring posing session began in the house for us...for Brian...lol!

My FAVOURITE! HAHAHAAHA!

Everyone said that this should go to the PAWS presentation slides....xDDDDDD

Mr Mushroom head

They make him drink some weird concoction of beer, wine and goodness knows what else

Since Ken was vegan for the time being (that itself is another story), he had nothing much to eat..so Chee Fei's mom was sooo sweet and kind to whip up a bowl of vegetarian noodles just for him!!

He took quite awhile to finish his meal...hahaha!

He started it!!!!! xD
A group pic with the bday boy

He was very happy! :D

With the bday boy and his present from all of us! :D
Chee Fei! Hope you really enjoyed your birthday and liked the present we got yoU! :D

2 hours

That was the amount of time i had slept for the whole night yesterday.

I am very sure that this is the first time i have ever allowed myself to do such a thing...to do such last minute work. No...not the last minute work that you do a few days before the assignment is due. This the last minute work you do the day BEFORE the assignment is due.

OMG!
NEVER EVER DO IT! It is so stressful and worst part is that you get balder!
*******
ARGH! STEWPID connection cut me off from the post and half of what i wrote earlier is gone. *grumbles*
Anyway, point is that i won't do it again! :D
Oh ya! There is something that i am planning to get....and most likely will...i'm not sure if i will eventually get it but...i...might...just miiiiggghhhhtttt be getting a new laptop.... :D :D
I will definitely share the good news when i eventually get one. No point hoo hoo haaing when i haven't gotten one yet anway. :D
On a side note, I CAN'T WAIT FOR HOLS TO ARRIVE! COME ALREADY! *impatiently stomps feet* :D

Overdue jump shots

I know jump shots that are taken nowadays seems rather "outdated" lar...since nearly everyone has at least one taken.

Thinking it was high time i got my very own jump shots (esp since now i have no excuse given that i have my own camera), i decided to take them at a new flyover that will eventually lead to my new house!! :D

Side note: YES!! NOW I CAN OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCE THAT I (aka family) HAVE A NEW HOUSE!! WOOHOOOOOO! I shan't disclose the location lest people start coming by, unannounced, hoping to catch a glimpse of my new home!! xD

We won't be moving until another 2 more years...so...hopefully by then, Chu Ian will be back for me to bring him there! :)

So yes...back to where i was...my jump shots (and other related/unrelated pics taken)! :
 i own the road!! xD
The view from the flyover on the highway was FREAKY! Esp if you have height phobia!
Hahaha! When can you ever have a chance to take pics like that??! xDD

This has got to be the first time i am publicly humiliating myself with all these silly shots of myself. xDD

But honestly, i had a wonderful time jumping and laughing at the absurdity of it all and most of all, the priceless look on the few passer-bys that saw me. xDD

I guess, most importantly, i can now cross this off my list of crazy things to do and laugh as i remember the exhilarating feeling of doing it!
If you have yet to try, take my advice...AND GO TAKE YOUR JUMP SHOTS!!!!! :D :D :D
