This post is obviously long overdue...but i figured i'll just post it up now that i am "free". :D
My cousin brother is getting married in May! :D So that makes another goal or rather another reinforcement for me to exercise more intensely! Grr!
Anyway, my uncle very kindly and generously invited us for food tasting at Oriental Banquet in PJ. :) This pictures are from day 2 since the ones from the first day are on my phone. Plus, these were the wayyyyyy tastier dishes anyway...So here are a few pictures i managed to snap before feasting! :D
| This is the starter dish. So yummy-fying looking right? IT WAS! :D |
| Ze fish. Yes...nothing particularly outstanding about it that makes you want to dive in and feast on it...but it DID taste nice! :) But i think the restaurant realised how unattractive it was so they made another fish dish for us to compare! |
| Look so much nicer eh? :D It was fried fish with pomelo and lime/orange/lemon dressing along with dried cuttlefish topping that gave the dish the extra salty zesty tangy taste that was surprisingly refreshing...in a rather odd way (since the idea of pomelo and fish just don't mesh) |
| It looks kinda dull up-close eh..hahaha! How can i bring out the colour of the dish?? |
| And this is the chicken. I know!! It looks very...ermm...not wedding dinner material..lol! But i liked the herbal taste!! :D |
| And this is a very sadly blurred close-up of the chicken. Haha! But i must say! It was soft and absolutely my favourite kind of herbal chicken dish!! :D On MY wedding day though, I'm not allowing this kind of presentation nor cooking style! KEKE! (TAKE NOTE!) |
| The vege! For all the weddings that i have attended, I always seem to see this dish being served. Not entirely sure what it is suppose to symbolize but omg...it's one of my favourite! xD I generally like broccoli and mushrooms so that is good but for me, the extra bonus is the taufu! :D I LOVE these rectangular-shaped fried taufu! SUPER NICE! :D I always felt that for the entire dish to be nice, the taufu MUST be soft and yet, the outer layer is slightly fried-like tough. Haha! This one is 2nd grade la..could have been better. xD |
| The lotus leaf wrapped sticky rice! Hahaha! I'm sure the restaurant came up with a far more glamorous name for it. xD Not too bad, this dish! :) |
| DESSERT! This particular dessert i always dread when i see it. For some reason, my body heat gets heated up (in a very heaty-bad-for-health way) just thinking about it, what more when i eat it! But surprisingly, it wasn't so bad! :D I think i had second helping...xD |
I know it looks very plain BUT IT IS UBER DUPER GOOD! Those balls u see inside? Those are like tang yuen but like...A GAZILLION TIMES BETTER! Take a bite of it and black sesame filling would ooze out and make your teeth black BUT OMG IT IS WORTH EVERY BLACK RESIDUE THAT GETS STUCK TO YOUR TEETH! SO GOOD I TELL YOU! A MUST TRY!!! :D
So that pretty much was
all i took from the food tasting dinner. :D I have some more from the
first day but it's on my phone and none of the pictures are particularly
pretty. xD
I'll be leaving for dinner soon (looking at all these just
makes me drool!) so i'll try to upload as many of my previous events
asap! :) Till then! :)
