Holidays

The past couple of weeks passed by like a sweet dream i did not want to wake up from. 


Chu Ian came back and everything felt exactly the way it was before he left for Australia. I had someone to hold hands with, someone to hug and cuddle and get away with all things couple-ly and lovey dovey. :) 


I promised myself that i would try my best to not be too attached to him in public, knowing how it feels like for singles and for those whose partners are not around, it was my way of being sensitive of my surroundings and others' feelings. 


But i do apologise to those who felt uncomfortable at any point in time when we went out together. :P After awhile, i just could not hold back. Every day and every moment was precious to me and spending it with him was our way of making up for lost time when he was away. :) 


Throughout the time we spent together, it felt like time stood still for us. Everything felt like it was going at a pace that was...just...right. :) 


I don't know when will be the next time that i get to see him again. Unfortunately, the future is not up to us to determine so we can't be absolutely certain. Not knowing what the future holds does make things somewhat difficult, especially for one who often prefers knowing where the road leads to. 


Regardless, that is something only God knows. For now, i am happy. Thankful. Blessed. :) 


And i can settle with that. :) 

Holidays Week 1

This shall hopefully be the last of my mid year holidays.

I've been pretty busy so far: being the driver, being the mediator, being the sister, being the girlfriend to my dearest (WHO FINALLY CAME BACK FROM AUSSIE!) and so much more.

But it is all good. I am thoroughly enjoying the holidays! I've managed to catch up on:

1. several new movies, 
2. played bowling (after 10 years?!),
3. went for a much needed shopping therapy session,
4. finally tried that awesome apple strudels that Chu Ian's dad brought back from Aussie (many thanks, uncle!! :D ), 
5. downloading tv series, 
6. catching up on old movies, 
7. and of course, having my dearest Chu Ian back from Australia. :):) 

Life is goooood. :D

Usually when i am going through exam stress or just looking forward to the holidays, i would draw up a list of things to do when i am free.

I realised i no longer do that anymore. No more coming up with list of movies to watch. No more coming up with list of baking to do. No more coming up with list of friends to catch up with...

But i do know that i have loads of things to do. Everything seems to be moving so fast that i feel like i barely have time to breathe.

As it is, i have these to do:

1. Babysit cousins 
2. Spend precious time with Chu Ian
3. Emceeing for Orientation
4. Catch up sessions with close friends

I have mentioned this a number of times before and i reiterate: TIME FLIES BY TOO FAST!!

I noticed something else too. I hardly take pictures nowadays! :(

Now that i have time and interest to post pictures, i don't have recent ones to share! Although i can always have pictures from Facebook (credited to Brian, of course) here, i want the pictures here to be the ones from my point of view. As bad as the quality and angles may be, i feel like, it's my blog. And it should have my pictures too. Especially since i own a camera.

Dare i put the blame on the camera? xD

Chu Ian recently got hold of his own DSLR. Nikon D7000.



Gahh! Jealous much!! But so happy for him too!! :D:D:D

But...i want one too. :(

Been hinting to dad since awhile ago and he is accustomed to my hints so i'm sure he's got it. But...but...sigh. Guess he is expecting me to go get my own. Same way he is not doing anything when i complain about my handphone. T.T

Even in my 4th year...

..and i still struggle to cope with pre-exam stress.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME! 

And like many times before, it is always during the worst period of the month. T.T 

I know i would be missing university life when i get to work but really, exams would never be apart of it. 

Unless it's easy and likeable subjects like INT1010. :D Which, till today, is my <3 subject. And no, it's not just because AHEM lecture is teaching it (HEHE) but really, i <3 the subject very much. :)

GAH! I have to face reality. :(

I mean seriously...

Weather is lovely.
There is no better weather than when it is raining.

Just listening to the sound of the raindrops tapping softly on the hard surfaces of the metal roof, it's strangely calming. Welcoming.

Especially when there is a strong breeze that feels like it's enveloping you, and you smell the rain and fresh air. I feel renewed. Recharged. Revitalised.

I believe, that my writing styles are oddly affected by the kinds of people i spend most of my time with. Or the people who are most influential in my life at some point.

It's like i am a sponge. Or a chameleon. I blend in with my surroundings and a part of me I never knew existed or was capable of, just appears. Here i am. A new side of me.

If you go through my older posts and psychoanalyse or just read closely, you will notice that there are certain periods where the styles of my writing is apparently different.

But that is me. Even my handwriting is inconsistent.

I think i have a mild case of bipolar disorder. Or is it just lack of assertiveness to make up my mind?

I love Scott Pilgrim vs The World.

I never thought i would like a show like this but right after i watched it, goodness gracious me! I fell in love with Michael Cera! xD Seriously, your heart must be made of steel if you do not even feel just a tiny bit of your heart go :"Awwwww" at some point throughout the show.

So good.

Must watch.

And yes, it is ancient movie.

But MUST WATCH ANYWAY! :D


Of Love and Drugs

Ignore the bad quality poster. 

But golly, this has got to be, the BEST love story of ALL time!!!

Never mind that Anne Hathaway bares her boobs half the time throughout the show; never mind that the censorship board would have had a field day editing the sex scenes and Anne's boobs in nearly 80% of the show; never mind that some of the conversations had sexual innuendos; never mind that we get to see Jake's sexy bum! 

This should have been screened during Valentine's Day! THIS is what love is all about! Not some dashing young dude that chases after some hot chick! 

You want meaningful, true love story? WATCH THIS! 

Aside from the love story, you also get to see the difficulties of being a sales representative. From what i heard briefly about Pfizer, the interview itself is telling of how they expect you to be good at talking and selling products. 

Whilst the minor stories of the supporting characters were not completed to tie up loose ends of the entire show, they were pretty good. :D Those who were comic reliefs did their part well! Unlike the children services representative in Life As We Know It, the characters in Love and Other Drugs really made my sides tickle! :D 

I'm catching up with some other comedy love stories as well, so i'll be updating those too! ;)

Just to show i'm alive

This has got to be the first in many attempts that i finally get myself to really update my blog. 

It has been awhile. Pictures are still in the neatly labelled folders tucked in some corner of my computer harddrive. Goodness knows when i will knock myself in the head and set it on drive to work a way around placing all of the badly taken photos, enlarge it to a in-your-face! size so you wouldn't have to complain that you can't find your glasses. :)

Summer Internship Part 2

...so where was i again? ....ah...yes. The Star CNY lunch! :D 

After Lou Sang-ing, there was the usual endless rounds of yummylicious food! :D 

This of course, is NOT food. I realised that i prefer taking pictures of food than i do of people. In fact, ANYthing other than people. xD Anyway, as was introduced in the earlier post, this is Aeryn acting cute. xD

Starters. I am still adamant that the thing on the right is soft shell crab and NOT squid (note to MARCUS). :P

I know i am in Leo and as President, i should support one of our rallies against animal cruelty (among others). I really should. BUTZOMGITISSHARKSFINSOUP! Sigh...i ought to be ashamed...let's all hope it was fake?

The only chicken thing about this dish was the chicken skin and the wings -.-

Greedy me thought that these two pieces were different. So i took two. What i failed to notice was that the almond and chicken skin was just two sides of the fish cake/paste. -.- Yeah. It was not chicken. Kena tipu. *grumbles* Wasn't even nice! *grumble grumble*

Fishy! :D Was normal. Some said it was tasteless. Then again, steamed fishes are usually tasteless. Unless you are awesome cooks like my grandparents that can make even the scales taste good. xD Really though, whether it's just the fish that they buy at the market or their cooking or both combined, the flesh is just...so sweet and so yummy and cooked to perfection! :D

I know. Uber blurry! I was most likely in tremendous shock and awe and was also trembling in anticipation to *NGOM* and attack the crabs (which of course i did with glee >=D) that resulted with the badly taken pic. :P Seriously though, CHECK OUT THE SIZE OF THE CRABS!!!! :D

Personally, i only like the Fu Chok in this dish. xD And for some reason, this reminds me of weddings. xD

Bah. I don't think i ate this. No biggie anyway.

Both are so-so but i prefer the green one simply 'cause it reminds me of those yummy cold and soft mooncakes! :D

I know it looks very blah and even disgusting but oh...my...i've not tasted mango flavoured tong sui that tasted quite as nice as this! :D

I chose this blurry pic only because it hid my now-visible double chin. :(:(  Nearly every pic displayed 'em!! ARGH! I FEEL THE PAIN FOR THOSE WITH DOUBLE CHIN! I SHALL NO LONGER LAUGH AT PEOPLE WITH DOUBLE CHIN! *sob*!!

Yeah, we love elevators with mirrors. xD

FYI. :) I am so glad that we pushed ourselves to reach the highest peak. Despite the lack of wow-factor at the sun rise, it feels blardy good. :D

Happy Rabbit Chinese New Year 2011! :D

Quiet as i think the celebrations are this year, i must say, it is the one festive holiday that i look forward to the most. Not just because i get more than just a day off but also because i get $$$ for my days off! :D That is until i get married of course. :D Or do married couples get ang pows too?? *hopeful*


As is with most of my CNY celebrations at my dad's hometown, this time of the year was no different. If it were the year of the Pig, i would symbolize the zodiac sign very much and would indeed, be thoroughly much more blessed for resembling its lifestyle. :P


For the whole 5 days that i was celebrating, all that was required to be done (for my part, anyway) was eat, sleep, watch tv, sleep, eat some more and be merry. :D What better holiday can there be?? :D

If my food adventure/internship is making me gain twice my size, CNY holidays made the process of the progress of my gaining thrice faster. :P


I know i will have to eventually sort out ways and means for me to push for exercise and lose all the excesses. But there is always that day in the near future, right? xD

Surprise of all surprises if there ever was one, i hardly took pictures. Definitely not as much as i did the previous year. But i did, however, like this one very awesome picture of a...shall we say, uninvited guest in the dinner plate:

Life is like congestion at the traffic light...

Getting caught in the traffic on a daily basis does make you think more. Observe more. And waste time.

If it were ever possible for me to read while stuck in those slow moving traffic, i would. But please, no jerky movements. :)

There were plenty a time when i wished i had my laptop with me or at least sufficient wifi connection for me to blog while i am stuck in heavy traffic. There are wayy wayyy too many things to write about!


From the people who attempted (but failed) to discreetly poke their nostrils to clear the bats from the cave, to the nasty road bullies and the rare glimpses of good looking blokes in fancy cars, if anyone ever wished to get inspiration for a sharp wit story, i'd say get on the road at heavy traffic hours! :D


Just this evening on my way home, it suddenly occured to me that life is pretty much like how it is on the road. Or vice versa.


I was waiting patiently in a long queue at the traffic light. Mind you, it was during heavy traffic hours. During times like these on a two lane, you get to see 4 types of people:
A) People who cut queue
B) People who let people cut queue (on the left lane)
C) People who don't let people cut queue
D) People who get to the other lane that is slightly faster (on the right lane)

From here, it is quite obvious that the people who cut queue (A people) as well as the ones who refuse to gracefully allow some space for the desperate (C people) and the ones who simply choose to use another lane that will avoid delays such as these (D people) have the advantage of saving time. Whilst the 'kind-hearted' ones (the B people) are the ones who end up having to waste time.

I may not explain this as brilliantly but in some ways, in life, there are the A people who will be the ones who will get at anything to get through a little ahead of you in the rat race. If it means hitting into one, grazing against another, or just forcing you off the track, they would. Impatient and as nasty as they can get, they are the ones who will eventually get to their destination the fastest (unless restricted by C people). 


Of course, there will be some of you who are strong enough to hold true to your principles and have your feet firm to the ground. These are the C people. Though true to yourself and headstrong, you can come off as a tad stubborn and somewhat selfish. Why not give a chance to A people who may have accidentally decided to come into your lane? Perhaps, they had not intented to brush you off your track. In any case, C people will be among the fastest to arrive their destination point.

D people are in some ways more diplomatic. They rather not enter the boxing ring to fight. Instead, they go through another route where they would encounter far less of A people to make their lives easier. Why call the fire brigade when you can blow out a candle right? Whilst it would be faster for you to get to your place of interest, there will be risk involved and you have to be ever ready for a slightly more reckless A people. If you go too fast and are not cautious, chances are that you would not anticipate the sudden intrusion when reckless A people cuts into your lane. So keep your eyes open.

As for the B people, well, you may not want to allow A people to cut into your lane but for some reason, you allow yourself to slow down, to be nice this time and let them cut into your lane as you curse softly at your moment of weakness. What happens at times is that there are the more opportunistic A people who will very expertly and conveniently include themselves in. This would then cause delays as several cars barge into your lane at the same time. However, late as it is, it is also strangely comforting because you felt like you did something good today. So much so that you almost...just really slightly...feel ever so angelic. Though that may be true, this 'kind hearted' person can come across as being easy. Easy prey for the ever opportunistic A people to pry on. And why not? They always give way anyway! So of course, they are the latest to arrive to their destination and may even complain about the traffic condition and reckless drivers.

So think about it carefully and observe a little more intently the next time you are on the road. And remember that at the end of the day, a little give and take is in order for the traffic to flow smoothly. Likewise in life. :)

The question now is, which driver are you? ;)

2011 is here!! :D

I have yet to complete my long list of goals to achieve this year.

Don't bother asking me about last year. *sideways glance* It is the present and future that we are meant to focus on anyway. *humpf*

About work...

It is simply astonishing to me how time has managed to pass by so quickly without anyone truly realising it.

Imagine! I am already in my 5th week of internship!! I actually managed to survive 5 weeks of "work"!! *amazed*

You must be wondering what kind of work i am exposed to as an intern. Allow me to share a simplified version of the things i do:

It is almost, if not exactly, like IMC.

For the non-business students or those who do not know, the department i am working for plans and organises for their clients schedules to advertise on any media type suitable for the client. :D

Yeah, we deal with timetabling, calculating costs, editing certain ads and negotiating T&Cs between client and media owners.

Basically being the middle man.

Being an intern, i am given the simpliest work possible but at the same time, they try to teach me (as much as they can) of the work that they do. Unfortunately, they work directly with their clients through the phone so i don't get the chance to go to client's offices to pay visits and explore. :(

Despite that, thankfully, i get the chance to be exposed to various programs (very powerful ones too) that they utilise to complete their researches. Once in awhile, they would make sure I am in the loop and try to make me understand their scope of work.

Which is all very sweet and kind to me. :)

I know i complain quite a fair bit on my boredom in work and i am not lying nor exaggerating.

I.AM.BORED.

Which is why i am now updating my blog. -.-

But despite the extreme boredom, i am surrounded by really friendly and kind colleagues who make sure my transition into the office as an intern is as smooth as it can ever be. :) Whilst they are not the type who are all hyped and crazy fun, they have their fair share of entertaining and amusing moments. :)

Unfortunately, i am not so close to them nor extrovert enough to lug my faithful camera and snap pics of my colleagues to show you. BUT i can write up some simple descriptions of them to you :)  (NOTE: all their names are altered to protect their identities. Any names that may coincidentally be their real names are completely unintentional.)

Marky (Monash Uni Student/Intern)
Yeah. Found out in my second week that some new intern was coming along. Little did i know that he was from Monash and a classmate of mine!! xD

He is really cute! In a little boy way. xD Especially when he laughs!! It's completely contagious! :D I was quite sad to hear that he would be leaving to Australia next year. :( Just when i was gaining a new friend to hang around with in uni! :( Since orientation in Australia is around February, he's only interning for two months so it's going to be a little quiet without him around. :(

Rachly (Staff)
Her boyfriend is a chef. Or was. Now he is a manager of some restaurant. Fancy that! She was telling us the other day how he would cook Risotto for her for breakfast. So often was it that she eventually got sick of it. xD Poor girl.

But despite that, she is skinny as a stick! Slouches badly and hardly has pimples. How is that possible when you live in with a boyfriend that cooks DELICIOUS food EVERY meal??! I am often reminded of unfairness in life when i see people like that. Humpf!

Despite that though, she is quite cute! And funny too! xD

Arin (New Staff)
Just into her second week and she has managed to blend in pretty well. A really cute and funny girl. Honest! She is the kind that tells people to not laugh at her cuz she is feeling so embarrassed in that reallly adorable and funny way. xDD Here was what happened:

It was the day before Christmas eve and after several days of our colleagues giving us little Christmas gifts, the newbies (me, Marky and Arin) decided to buy some sweets/chocolates to give something in return. During lunch time, Arin decided to drop by a grocery shop and bought bags (yes...BAGS) full of sweets! It was somehow hilarious to me and Marky 'cause we kept laughing at the amount she bought! She saw us laughing and shyly laughed and said:"Eh...don't laugh laa! It's so embarrassing to lug around this bag of sweets as it is!" Which only made us laugh harder.

Later on, when we joined forces to give away our gifts (we were extremely nervous btw. Don't ask why), she showed us how she opened all the bags of sweets to mix different flavours together and told us she would give away a handful of sweets. And somehow, we laughed when she compared how Marky should not do it since he has a bigger hand and would give most away! xD

I like her. xD

Joey (Small Boss #1/Drama Queen #1)
To inform you, my office is pretty quiet most of time when all are busy working. So quiet that the saying "You can hear the pin drop" is appropriate in such environment. When she comes in though, and when she chooses to, she can speak so uber loud that the entire office HAS to hear her two cents worth of comments and phone conversations. Which is most of the time. 

She sighs loudly and dramatically. She exclaims exaggeratedly like she is on theater. Always says something to announce her presence. Yet, it's amazing how soft she can be when she is discussing something urgent with Big Boss.

But i have to say this: She has AMAZING fashion sense. She is tall, slim without being anorexically thin, beautiful skin and can actually pass off as being rather attractive as well as having AWESOME looooooong wavy thick hair that i am totally envious of!! She comes to work everyday with a different outfit and rocks every do! I always secretly wish i can be like her too! Fashion-wise of course. Me like. :D

Despite her dramatic ways, she is rather nice. At least she smiles when she sees me. :)

Clarry (Small Boss #2/ Drama Queen #2)
She is the one with Lily Allen's F*** You ring tone. Shocked me the first time and still do. 

She is Drama Queen #2's best friend. It's havoc when the two of them are around. It's chaotic when they try to be funny and exclaim loudly to other Small Bosses. Actually, it is rather funny when Drama Queen #2 tries so hard to be like Drama Queen #1. She literally echoes the words DQ#1 says and thinks she is being funny that if i were at a distance, i would burst out laughing! 


However, her temper is not something to joke about. In fact, it's so scary it's not even funny. She openly curses and swears and slam phones down on people when they piss her off. I suppose one of the dead giveaways of her sort of character is in her ring tone itself. Freaky.

She once told me when i was telling her about how Leo Club helped Madam Kang and her dogs that she would rather give charity to people than animals in a very stand-offish manner. Made me shut up and refrain from talking too much in front of her.

Despite it all, she can also be kind. She complimented me on my handwriting too and to all who know me well, i take extreme pride in my good handwriting. :) She is also the sort of friend you would want by your side when there is crappy service at some restaurant and you want to tell them off. xD Though, be mindful to make sure she speaks AFTER they're done serving food.

Cassie (Staff)
She looks very much like a Korean. Really.

She is blunt yet friendly and is quite talkative too. :) Quite a bubbly person and knowledgeable. :) She often hangs around with the bosses without seemingly trying to kiss asses and all seem to like her very much. :D She has a particular liking for a bunch of hair bows she bought from Korea. xD I think she would fit perfectly in Korea. xD

Chrissy (My direct Small Boss)
I hear she is from my alma mater (of high school years). Speaks with an accent and seems rather nice. I hardly spend time with her so i don't really know. But from what i observe, she is very encouraging, patient and seems to me, the best of all the small bosses and big bosses in the company. Compared to many of small bosses and big boss in the company, she is by far, the only one who i do not hear raising her voice to prove a point. If i had to choose who i wanted to really work with, she would be my first pick of the lot. :)

Since i am sort of under her, i am really lucky. :D

Bella & Thay (My 'supervisors'/mentors)
I really do think that i work with both of the best mentors ever.They are extremely patient, sweet, funny and friendly to me. :) They make sure they include me in their lunches and introduce me to other colleagues from different floors too. :) I really could not ask for better mentors than the two of them combined. :)

Buyers Section (Different section)
5 of them work under Boss S who can be really nice but very fierce when you get slow and make silly mistakes. Then again, who doesn't?

She has two staff members who can be a little unhelpful and i've heard her scold them rather loudly. Quite scary woman. Do NOT make her angry.

In this section, there are two young mothers who are very cute and funny when they try to collect adorable stuff for their young kids. xD One guy C who is...well, one of those who gets scolding. Though on a separate note, he recently bought his gf a Thomas Sabo pendant/charm! o.O There is another staff, P, who unfortunately, not many people like and is also the other who gets scolding.

To me, P is the sort who can be annoying yet totally sweet and friendly. There was a time when she actually gave me a back rub 'cause she wanted to do so. xD It was painful but i just let her have her way since she was trying to be nice. :P

Her favourite word is: "STUPID!" Or the Malay equivalent: "BODOH".

Hahaha! But she says it in the funniest way that it doesn't seem too much of threat, to be honest. xD She is very nice and can be quite a joker too! She talks pretty loudly as well but somehow, perhaps she makes sense or the fact she is big boss that it doesn't seem annoying. xD

So that is pretty much the most of my colleagues. :D From what i observe, to survive in the real working life, a little more extrovert personality can bring you far and beyond where your degree can lead you. And honestly, being street smart is far better than being book smart. :) 

Well anyway, i guess i'll update more when i have nothing much to do. :D

Dumb Blonde Moment

For those who happily and even loudly claim that they had not once in their life, experience a moment of dumb blonde-ness, i would tell you that it is far from the truth.

Being a dumb blonde is not gender specific. Yes. Males have dumb blonde moments too! Observe and you'll see. :D

I, unfortunately, have one too many times of such a moment. Chu Ian is my witness of pretty much every experience I've had. And come to think of it, it isn't something good at all...though it tickles him and he laughs till his sides ache. xD

Just to share just how silly i can be, this incident happened to me last night when i was preparing for bed.

I was about to fall asleep when i realised i ought to be diligent with my "face-care" regime. So after having done the routine stuff, i suddenly recalled this free sample of intense care liquid stuff for the hair by Dove given in a spread of Cleo.

To tell you a little about the advertisement, it was promoting some intense care hair products and it was highlighting on the intense care night repair thingy that you can apparently apply on your hair and sleep with it on as it works its magic!

Thinking "what the heck la..since it's all so cool, just try la!"

And that i did.

It was only 3 minutes into applying the cream on my hair did i realise, that something just didn't feel right. Do these intense hair thingy feel so sticky and makes those sparkly noises when you apply it on?

Snatching the bottle from my table stand did i notice, in a rather small font, there stated quite clearly:

"SHAMPOO"

o.O

Did i mention that it was already about 12 midnight and i had to wake up at 6 the next day?

After washing my hair (again) and blow drying it, i laughed at my silliness and manage to get my sleep at 1:30ish...which resulted with me yawning my butt off while doing my part for charity. xD

Lesson learnt: READ LABELS PROPERLY!!! And DON'T TRY FARNIE STUFF SO LATE AT NIGHT!!!

Annual Taiping Trip with Leos!

Once again, we decided to make another trip up to Kamunting to visit Madam Kang and her dogs. Although this time round, we also planned a visit to a children's home in Taiping as well. :) 

I didn't get a chance to take as many pictures of people as i would have liked and ended up focusing more on food. xD Food or not, pictures do tell a far better story than I can. Especially giving better visuals than i can describe and design a picture in your head. :D

So here are a few:

The first stop: Bidor, for brunch!

Anytime that you happen to pass by Bidor and crave for a plate of wan tan mee or a bowl of duck meat noodles, here is the place to visit. :)

They guard her house pretty fiercely

These are the things we bought for her: Kitchen Rolls, a couple of shovel, a couple of cangkul, boxes of mineral water, somemore boxes of milo packets to last her a good half a year, and lots of packets of garbage bags as well as bread.

She had to cut down some trees to clear the area cuz there were snakes and wild boars

Everyone gathered around her as she told her story to the newcomers

She tries to gather the dry/fallen branches and torches them as her means of getting rid of the rubbish. Notice the metal bars? They are extras from the fences that she built up awhile back (though quite recently) that she could not find a way to dispose of them cuz rubbish trucks don't come by her area that often. She has plans to sell them though.

Alot of them listening attentively.

This is pretty much the condition that she lives in. It can pose as a danger to her health as these are potential breeding grounds for all sorts of beings (ie mosquitoes, rodents, snakes, spiders...etc). Unfortunately, since there is no one helping her on a daily basis, she does not have the energy nor the strength to continuously ensure the upkeep of her housing area. It is actually sad to hear that we are one of the very few who actually visit her and do hands-on help.

This one caught most of everyone's eye. She has a sister too! Just as white and cute! :D Madam Kang found them at some pasar and took them in. :)

We got down to business and did what we could to rake the leaves and clear most of the land.

It did not smell pleasant at ALL. Imagine having to take care of 150+ dogs on your own and on a daily basis, you have to clear all of their faeces. IT. IS. NIGHTMARE.

She usually don't use much gloves. And as you can observe, it is not exactly very clean. It's pretty much like how you see those rubbish collectors not wearing gloves when they pick rubbish. Very very very unhygienic.

They were initially very scared of us and kept barking and staying away. But eventually, they realised we were not threats and became very friendly and verryy cute! :D

The brown one is Leo! :D Some lady apparently came by to Mdm Kang and dropped off this few weeks old puppy. So since Mdm Kang has yet to name him, we decided to name him after our club - LEO! :D

This was just as cute! :D Not sure what her name is though...

After washing up, it was decided that we could have BBQ afterall (it was earlier said that it was cancelled but then it was again approved...not sure why...) and Shu Shan, David and Weng Howe went out to grab the stuff whilst the rest stayed behind to bathe, play cards and bond. :)

And soon, (after 2 hours plus) we finally got the fire started!! :D WOOOOT! Here is some effect that i totally LOVE! :D

When you want to order any food, the one way to identify where you are seated is by saying which stall are you seated in front of! :D

This longan drink is by far, the most yummy and most herbal healthy-like that i've ever tasted! :D And it was only RM1.20!

Then we headed to the Taiping Children's Home. Adrian was the game master. Very good at it too, i must add. :)

See the boy in the middle? His name is Bala. At least i call him so. He is very quiet at first but totally adorable when you know him!! He kept "bullying" me though...xD

Then we headed to Meridian Hotel (a VERYY old one) to have dinner! :D This fried omelette/ fu yong dan was spicy!! BUT I LIKE! :D

Curry fish. It was only so-so. I don't think the curry was thick enough.

This is a cross between fried tofu and fried fish cake. xD I'm sure we ordered tofu though.

CHICKEN! Duh. Note the head and the butt. Thankfully the dish wasn't placed in front of me. Otherwise, i'll have a hard time getting my appetite. xD

And then we were full and decided to play around with the chicken head, butt and wings!. xD

This was in Ipoh. We got up at around 4-5am to get ready and left Taiping at around 7am. Arrived here at around 9:45-10.00am to have late dim sum bfast.

What was the funniest was that opposite this restaurant was the newly renovated Foh San. When they mentioned we were eating dim sum, half of the people went straight to Foh San, thinking that we were eating there! xDD THAT place looked AWESOME though..very grand..

Food here was only so-so. I think we get better dim sum in Subang/KL than in Ipoh. xD

After Dim Sum, we had to rest awhile to let the food digest before we moved on to the next stop. So we walked ourselves to Ipoh Parkson for some "shopping". xD

Not entirely sure of the sequence but we did stop by this place that is supposedly famous for their kaya puff. Dad said it was only so-so. Thankfully i didn't get any! xD

Then David brought us to this small little corner for some soya bean! :D

They even have business cards! And they provide GPS coordinates toooo! LOL!

Then we moved on to this place that is also supposedly famous for their (direct translation) taugeh chicken! XD Again, there are better ones here in Subang/KL.

We were pretty full after the soya bean...so all that we ordered were:

One bowl of rice (of which we didn't finish..:P)

A bowl of kuay tiew noodles

And of course, CHICKEN! xD

After that, we were walking off the restaurant when we came across this road island and saw LOADS of pigeons!

They were not scared of humans at all!! Veryyy veryyy cute! I was actually chasing after this white pigeon that was soo adorable! :D

We went to this restaurant Kong Hing (i think) that are famous for their rojak, satay, chee cheung fun and apparently egg custards too.

I thought the rojak sauce was a tad too sweet for me.

We ordered 10 each of chicken and pork satay. All i can comment is that pork satay was full of fats...the KL one was better.

sauce was ok. :)

And that was pretty much all of what we had throughout the Taiping trip. Of course, there are far more pictures of many things that can be seen on Facebook that are taken by Brian and Adrian. xD Like i mentioned, i happened to focus alot on food. xD 

Prolly cuz i felt a little intimidated by all the fancy cameras shooting everything...xD
